More new clothes

As mentioned in my last post, I have been sewing up a new capot. This one was made from a nice blanket I got from Jim Kimpell. I washed it up twice good and hot and dried hot. It is about as thick as a Rob Stone but not quite as dense. I based it off of a number of the images I showed in the last blog, even deciding to add a stand collar. I decided that this would add some nice warmth and protection from the wind.

Also, the end of the summer, I made a new pair of trousers. I have been wanting striped trousers for quite a while. I am excited to have these done.

    Dear Sir;

    I really like the capote you are showing in this article. Where or what pattern did you use. Also, where or what pattern did you use for your gilets that I have seen in some of your picture in other articles. I also want to let you know I enjoy the style of wrinting in all your stories. You don’t find that kind of writing to often these days.

    Thanks in advance, Gary Driver

      Thank you very much. The gilet pattern I use is a JP Ryan Waistcoat pattern that I really like and have altered for the different waistcoats I wear. The capot pattern is a pattern I drafted of my own. I have also used JP Ryan coat patterns and altered them to a capot, but I have made so many over the years that I sort of draft my own now.
